The lecture will examine the regulation of the right to repair in the European Union and the United States and explore the main current regulatory challenges for digital products. The legal comparative study will enlighten the similarities and differences between the two policies and legislative approaches, providing additional tools of inquiry to assess the effectiveness of right-to-repair laws in the digital age.

Rosalba Potenzano is an Assistant Professor of Comparative Law at the University of Palermo (Italy), where she teaches Digital Markets Law. She earned her JD (2016) and PhD in Legal System Dynamics (2021) from the University of Palermo and is qualified for the Italian Bar. She held visiting scholar positions in the USA (University of Pennsylvania) and Taiwan (National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University). She researches and writes in private law, health law, due process of law, and digital markets law. Her current research addresses the role of consumer law in pursuing the transition towards a circular economy.
